Gilbert Chon

A family adventure going back three centuries.

Since 1670, the Chon family has been writing a rich history closely linked to wine.

In the Nantes region since the 20th century, it was in 1970 that Gilbert and Anne Chon settled at Château de la Jousselinière, where they had already been working the vines. Its 1643 chapel, Neo-Norman-style winery and 20 hectares of adjoining vines make it a unique site in the Nantes vineyards.

The family story has been continued by their three sons – François-Xavier, Jean-Gilbert and Frédéric. The domaine has continued to develop, with complete autonomy from vineyard to bottling, and has built up a solid sales network in France and in over 20 countries worldwide.

In 2022, Marine Chon and her husband Arnaud Madec joined GILBERT CHON as a couple, building on their respective experience in Paris and their complementary skills, learning with humility and passion from the family.

They are committed to promoting the wines of the historic estate and developing the négociant-vinificateur business to highlight the excellence and great diversity of the region’s terroirs.
